10 Things That Must Happen In NXT In 2018

4. Do Something With Roderick Strong

Roderick Strong’s NXT career has been a very topsy-turvy experience so far. He was initially brought in as Austin Aries’ surprise tag team partner, but the destruction of A Double’s eye socket meant Roddy was forced to make a surprising and widely-criticised babyface turn.

Somehow, this all led to Roderick Strong becoming the best babyface on the roster. A number of fantastic vignettes were aired about his family life, and one of the most vanilla good guys in wrestling became someone that fans all over the world were desperate to get behind.

And just like that, nothing happened. Strong was overtaken by Drew McIntyre and others in the race for the NXT Championship, and now he is spinning his wheels once more. Strong is too talented not to be a star, so NXT needs to do something with him or allow him to move up to the main roster, where he could be of real service.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
