10 Things That Must Happen Now WWE Royal Rumble 2017 Is Over

3. Bray Wyatt Wins The WWE Championship

Despite the fact that common sense would have dictated otherwise, Randy Orton won the Royal Rumble match. Now, Orton is guaranteed what the company has called a "headlining" match at WrestleMania, but will most likely be an undercard bout for the WWE Championship.

There's no reason for a Cena-Orton match, so the most likely course of events will see Bray Wyatt win the WWE Championship from Cena at the Elimination Chamber. At this point, I should interject - I think putting the WWE Title on Wyatt right now is a complete mistake. That's not because I think Wyatt isn't talented, but because the creative team hasn't done anything to advance his character in three-and-a-half years. Putting the belt on him when he's so stale seems like the worst possible way to make the WWE Championship feel important.

Still, though, the Wyatt-Orton program has been very interesting since Orton joined The Wyatt Family. It's got to blow off with a singles match at WrestleMania, and given that Orton is the Royal Rumble winner, this is the bed that's been made.
