10 Things That Prove December Is The Worst Month For Wrestling

1. The Road To The Road To WrestleMania

In January, all WWE fans can talk about is the Royal Rumble. Even when the Rumble is bad (and it's been pretty bad the past few years), there's still a one-of-a-kind excitement that comes with the 30 staggered entries and the knowledge that the road to WrestleMania is beginning in earnest.

In December, though, that's all still weeks away. There's no talk of WrestleMania, and even the Royal Rumble seems far off. We get the occasional main eventer announcing that he'll be part of the Rumble, but those are just words that don't mean much.

Even when the main event for WrestleMania is teased months in advance, December is usually quiet. For instance, in 2014, Sting debuted in WWE at the Survivor Series, helping John Cena's team score a major win over The Authority. That was the only appearance for Sting for weeks, though - there was no follow-up on his angle throughout the month of December.
