10 Things That Prove December Is The Worst Month For Wrestling

5. The TLC PPV Weakened The TLC Match

The most enduring December tradition for WWE, at least in recent years, has been the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Pay-Per-View. Based off on one of the most beloved match stipulations in the company, the PPV is always guaranteed to have at least one TLC bout - a match where Tables, Ladders, and Chairs are all legal, and usually, a prize is suspended above the ring.

The problem is that, with a notable exception (2012's bout pitting The Shield against Team Hell No and Daniel Bryan), the TLC matches at the eponymous PPV haven't been all that great. The multiple-man world title matches at the 2010 and 2011 events didn't capture anyone's imagination, and the WWE/World Heavyweight Title unification bout at the 2013 show was pretty disappointing for a bout that was hyped as one of the most important ever. Sheamus and Roman Reigns had a decent match at last year's show, but the crowd indifference killed it.

Sadly, all the TLC PPV has done in the long term is cheapen what was once a cherished stipulation.
