Details are finally seeping through for WWE’s long-awaited women’s tournament.

Vince McMahon announced during last week’s earnings conference call that the company were looking to host the event in 2017’s third quarter, with a new PWInsider report stating earlier this week that tapings will be held at Full Sail University on July 13th & 14th.

Fans are justifiably excited about the tournament, and expectations are high. The Cruiserweight Classic was one of 2016’s biggest wrestling highlights, and if the women’s event doesn’t at least aspire to match its quality, it’ll be seen as a letdown. Thus, WWE shouldn’t spare any expense in assembling talent for the tourney, and producing matches on-par with the CWC.

The CWC assembled a dazzling crew of wrestlers from around the world, and the women’s tourney should follow the same blueprint. Japan’s Io Shirai and Kairi Hojo must be a priority, as should the UK’s Kay Lee Ray and Nixon Newell, and New Zealand’s Toni Storm. WWE can also dip into their existing talent base with the likes of Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot set to stack the tourney with potential winners and keep fans entertained throughout.
