10 Things That Should Be On WWE's Summer To-Do List

8. BREAKING The Hardyz

Matt and Jeff Hardy have been booked strongly since returning at WrestleMania 33, but they can only persist with their current act for so long. Nostalgia has a sell-by date, and if the Hardyz lean on it for too long, they’ll go the way of the Dudley Boyz. Fortunately, the Hardyz have one of wrestling’s most buzz-worthy gimmicks nestled in their back pocket, and providing WWE can clear up the legal rights issue with Impact Wrestling, it’ll soon be ready to be unleashed.

The BROKEN Universe was one of wrestling’s biggest talking points in 2016, and sparked a huge career revival for the Hardy Boyz. Just when it looked like they were drifting towards irrelevance, the gimmick spiked their popularity, produced dozens of meme-worthy quirks and catchphrases, and eventually led to their grand WWE return.

Matt has kept the gimmick alive by working the odd delete gesture or over-emphasised adjective into his recent WWE work, and his social media activity suggests that the change is coming sooner, rather than later. The fans are dying for it to happen, and if WWE have the rights, they should pull the trigger as soon as possible.
