9 Things That Should Have Happened On WCW’s Final Nitro

2. Top WWF Star Attacks Sting Post-Ric Flair Match

It's been said that Vince McMahon personally requested Ric Flair and Sting wrestle one last time on the final Nitro. That could have been part of the storyline to cap off the show and leave viewers only wanting more. The WCW announcers would be furious over the idea that McMahon was telling their biggest stars what to do, but state they had no choice because he now owned the company.

Still, they would reason, seeing Flair vs. Sting was a nice gesture from their new (unwanted) boss. Following the match itself, the real motive for McMahon's apparent kindness would be revealed, and it would act as a coincidental slice of revenge for what had happened to him earlier. Reeling over being beaten up by Eric Bischoff and several top WCW stars, Vince would watch with glee having already sent The Rock or another top WWF name to attack Sting and crash the party.

Flair would have already retreated to the back, seemingly letting Sting shine in the spotlight one last time on Nitro. Only then would The Rock emerge through the crowd and thump the WCW icon with a thunderous Rock Bottom. All hell would break loose shortly thereafter.
