Following such a truly massive incident, the announcers on both Raw Is War and Monday Nitro could have had a field day. Jim Ross would have been in his hyperbolic element, shooting off about the prospect of World Championship Wrestling unthinkably making a mark at WrestleMania. Meanwhile on the WCW side, Tony Schiavone would be almost giddy with glee over the thought that his company might stamp their authority on the WWF's biggest show of the year.

Accusations could be thrown out by Vince towards Shane McMahon, alleging that the 'Boy Wonder' was conspiring with Eric Bischoff to destroy his father's work. This would only further hype the impending clash between father and son at WrestleMania X-Seven, throwing some more intrigue into a situation that was already bursting-at-the-seams .

Come 'Mania, several lower level WCW stars were limply shown hanging around watching the pay-per-view from a skybox. That was such a waste, the hype should have been all about this rival company seeking opportunity to tarnish Vince McMahon's legacy, rather than sitting around looking glum.
