10 Things That Would Happen If WWE Buys TNA

8. Dixie Carter Will Leave The Business

While Dixie Carter technically still owns a controlling stake in TNA, her power has dwindled significantly. Her fellow shareholders Billy Corgan and Aroluxe gained their stakes by providing emergency funds for tapings and their last pay-per-view, and Carter has ceded much power to Corgan in-particular. Corgan’s latest cash injection saw him become not only TNA’s on-screen authority figure, but also a key decision-maker behind the scenes.

Carter has always been a big stumbling block to any potential TNA sale. Despite the company’s financial failings, Carter has stood firm in her valuation of her shares, and only ever compromises through desperation. It looks like her days are finally numbered however, and if WWE decide to buy TNA, don’t expect her to stay in the business.

Names like Vince Russo and Hulk Hogan are regularly brought-up when discussing the architects of TNA’s demise, but Carter is just as blameworthy. It is through her custodianship that the company has become an industry laughing stock, and her reputation, like TNA’s, appears to be forever tainted by TNA’s failings. With an estimated net worth of $3 million (plus the windfall she’d earn from the sale), there’s little reason for Carter to stick around in wrestling, and with her name value at an all-time low, it’s unlikely she’d even be afforded that opportunity anyway.
