10 Things That Would Happen If WWE Buys TNA
7. An NXT Influx
Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, Eric Young. A quick glance through NXT’s roster reveals some of the most celebrated wrestlers in TNA history, and while TNA’s habit of hoovering-up WWE cast-offs has been one of the company’s major complaints over the years, WWE have done a great job on the other side of the equation.
Joe and Roode are already among NXT’s most important performers, and Aries is finding his feet as the brand’s prime obnoxious heel. NXT’s younger stars have benefited immensely from having these veteran presences on the roster, and if WWE decides to buy TNA, fans can expect a few more to join them.
James Storm has moonlighted with NXT before, and would likely jump at the chance to join WWE should TNA go down. Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards are former indie wunderkinds who’d fit-in perfectly on NXT’s multi-talented roster, and then there are younger, flashier wrestlers like Mark Andrews and DJ Z whose skills unquestionably deserve better than to suffer in TNA’s midcard.
NXT’s recent tapings have been flooded with new talent, and while any TNA arrivals would likely necessitate a few main roster call-ups to make room, WWE would be foolish not to drain TNA’s talent pool for the benefit of its developmental territory.
