10 Things TNA Got Right

3. World X Cup

TNA X Division 3 One of TNA's greatest attractions in the early days of the company was a tournament featuring teams from all over the globe competing in singles matches, tag team matches, battle royals, or even the Ultimate X match. It showcased all kinds of international styles from the "catch" style of British wrestling, to the hard hitting Japanese strong style and of course Mexican Lucha Libre. The other great thing about the World X Cup was that TNA was willing to work together with other promotions to bring in international talent and young wrestlers from Mexico and Japan got an opportunity to wrestle on television for a new audience. WWE refuses to acknowledge that other wrestling promotions exist, although since they are the number 1 game in town, they really have no reason to bother. Not to mention that Vince McMahon's focus on "Entertainment" over wrestling means that WWE has no desire to be compared to New Japan, Dragon Gate or CMLL. While the World X Cup no longer exists, (I'm not counting the recent One Night Only event) it is still encouraging to see TNA working alongside the Great Muta's Wrestle-1 promotion. When wrestling promotions work together, it's us the fans who are the real winners.

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
