10 Things TNA Wrestling Did Right

1. The Kurt Angle Feud With Samoa Joe

The best feud in TNA history was the rivalry that existed between Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe. When Angle debuted in the company in 2006 it was seen as a huge deal because wrestling fans knew that Angle was one of the best wrestlers alive. He was still in the prime of his career. He lost his job in WWE because of concerns about his health rather than a question of his abilities as a performer. Angle showed up in TNA, got right in the face of Joe (who was booked like an undefeated beast), headbutted him and the rivalry was on. Their first match at TNA's Genesis PPV in December of 2006 was one of the most anticipated matches in TNA history. Angle was a big star that could have great matches with everybody while Joe was undefeated and there were questions about whether he could be beat. It was the best angle that TNA ever did and they haven't come close to topping it since. Angle won the match to give Joe his first loss. They had several other matches soon after that as well as a famous one at Lockdown 2008 in the cage that was one of the most unique main event matches ever because they wrestled more of a shoot wrestling style. That period from about 2006 to 2008 when Angle was still fresh there and they had a loaded roster was the best time for TNA. Angle vs. Joe was a big reason for it. Too bad they had to hire Hogan & Bischoff soon after because that's when the wheels started to fall off.
