When WCW died in 2001, a lot of their diehard fans were sad about because it meant they couldn't see some of their wrestlers anymore. A lot of them went to WWE, but if the true WCW loyalists didn't want to watch WWE. Plus, the face of WCW was Sting and he was nowhere to be found in WWE. Sting ended up signing with TNA at first in 2003 for a handful of appearances and then he became somewhat of a regular by 2006. He stayed there for the next seven years. Basically he was there for about a decade until he parted ways with them in early 2014. While Sting will always be known for as a NWA/WCW guy more than anything, his name and drawing power really helped TNA grow as a company. If you wanted to see Sting in action that's where you had to go. By the end of his TNA run, his age started to show and you could tell it was time for him to move on. However, his impact (no pun intended) was huge. It was certainly more significant than when Hulk Hogan showed up because Hogan wasn't able to wrestle like he could in his prime.
