10 Things To Expect From CM Punk's UFC Debut

3. A Focus On The Ground Game

Here's a chance for CM Punk to shine: if he has a strong suit, it's likely on the ground. Though he never was awarded any belts prior to embarking on his MMA career, Punk had trained off and on under the Gracie family, so he definitely knows how to roll on the mat. His submission game is a question mark as far as live fights, obviously, but he at least understands them. Thus if he can get the fight to the ground, it may give him an edge, especially if he has kept this aspect of his game fresh. Styles make fights, so it may depend on who the UFC pairs Punk up against as to whether this really does turn out to be a factor - but it certainly could be.
