10 Things To Take Away From WWE NXT Takeover: Rival

9. Hideo Itami Teases GTS & Fights Through Injured Knee To Defeat Tyler Breeze

This was the perfect opener for NXT Takeover: Rival. Two wrestlers of the same stature, but different styles that really gelled together. This match was set up thanks to the attack Tyler Breeze laid on Hideo Itami last week after he failed to beat Finn Balor in the #1 Contender's tournament. Breeze claimed that he could beat Balor and Itami ruined it for him, and that led to this grudge match. Once again Itami teases us with the GTS to a huge pop from the NXT Universe, but Breeze countered with a roll-up pin attempt. I'm guessing at the next Takeover special, he finally hits it. Breeze worked over Itami's knee really well to try to hinder his kicking offense. As Breeze was getting the upper hand, Itami did his version of Hulking up; which is pretty good and entertaining. We had a great nearfall when they traded an Itami kick with a Supermodel kick, but in the end Itami got the advantage with a flying knee to pin Breeze.
