10 Things We Just Learned From Triple H About NXT & WWE

Inevitably, the question of difference probably gets posed to Triple H more than anything else: with his comments about NXT being a third brand and not "just" a development territory, that proximity fundamentally invites more scrutiny too.

So what is the difference between the way NXT is presented, and booked compared with the main brand?

Obviously, Triple H had no intention of simply recreating Raw or Smackdown - difference was always key, because replication wouldn't have been inspiring to the fans. "If it was just more of the same, I don't know that the interest level would be the same, and I really believe that's part of the magic of what it is. It's just an alternative."

"To me, our industry is kind of like music. And, you know, there's all kind of different genres of music. And Raw and SmackDown, you're trying to hit the most mainstream level of enjoyment of the product that you can, so sort of like pop music, you know?

He's obviously still very diplomatic and careful not to compare the products in terms of quality or success - just spirit. "Not one is not better. ...They're different, you know?"

If you were cynical, you could read something into the comments about having to hit the biggest audience possible, but clearly the message here is that there's a lot of enjoyment to be had in the freedom afforded by NXT and its fundamental agenda for variety.
