10 Things We Know About CM Punk's UFC Opponent

5. Like A Lot Of People, He Sees Punk As A Pro Wrestler

He's just a fake fighter, trying to switch to the real thing! So goes the refrain from many fans (Punk himself wouldn't call them fans, so critics if you prefer). The bottom line is that such sentiment is technically accurate, but doesn't really account for the amount of work CM Punk is putting into this transition. Speaking to MMA Fighting, Gall was in agreement with the critics who see Punk as a pro wrestler first.
Honestly, man, I think that guy€™s used to going into a ring and whispering to his guy, €˜Hey, let€™s do a clothesline. Hey, let€™s practice jumping off the ropes and this and that. I think when he gets in there and he has me coming at him looking to kill him, I don€™t think he€™ll be able to handle it. He€™s a professional wrestler, and he€™s great at that. He€™s made himself a millionaire doing that. But now he€™s stepping into a different world, and I think he€™d be in a lot of trouble. To be honest, I just think if I hit that dude in his face hard, I don€™t think he€™s going to react well with that.
