10 Things We Learned About AEW’s Blood & Guts On Talk Is Jericho
9. He Was Worried About The Pinnacle
Eventually, thoughts of The Elite vs. Inner Circle faded, and Jericho hammered home his belief that AEW shouldn't promote the match without two strong squads. He admits he wasn't even that keen on The Pinnacle at first, because there were question marks over how "worthy" they were.
That changed when he and others spotted the complete lack of comedy in the story. Sure, Jericho and MJF had done some singing, and yes, they had a buddy cop dynamic like they were channelling Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in The Other Guys. However, they knew they could turn the heat up when sh*t got serious.
It's interesting to learn that Jericho wasn't completely sold on The Pinnacle at first though. It took him a while before he was willing to come round to the idea that MJF, FTR, Wardlow and Shawn Spears could replace the likes of The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.
He was happy to be wrong about that.
