10 Things We Learned About AEW’s Blood & Guts On Talk Is Jericho

5. Nexus Inspired The Stand Off

The surprising revelations didn't stop there.

That awesome stand off spot at Blood & Guts was lifted from another angle Jericho had worked. Namely, it took inspiration from the 9 August 2010 episode of WWE Raw. There, 'Team WWE' had an old school stand off with Wade Barrett's Nexus lads before it all kicked off and both sides brawled to a huge response.

Jericho loved that moment - he'll never forget how loud the Sacramento hoards were when everyone eventually laid into one another. He wanted to repeat that in AEW, so told everyone they weren't to move until he gave them the signal. Then, they were to scrap like they'd never scrapped before.

See? Some good did come from the whole Nexus debacle. WWE might've ruined the stable's menace at SummerSlam 2010 a few weeks later, but Jericho lifted the fiery passion from that pay-per-view's build and got it right in AEW 11 years on.

Incredible.
