10 Things We Learned About Chris Benoit Tragedy From Kevin Sullivan On Jim Cornette's Podcast

10. Why He Wasn't On VICE's Documentary

So, why wasn't Sullivan involved in that documentary?

He told Cornette that he wanted to get approval from Nancy's parents before agreeing to talk about their daughter's tragic death. Unfortunately, he couldn't get hold of Maureen or Paul, and decided that it'd be best not to insult them by going ahead without their express permission.

That's really all there was to it. Kevin didn't knock back the chance to speak with VICE after all; he was willing to, but only if Nancy's mother and father were there to give him the go ahead. There was a bit of a breakdown in communication between both parties, which is perhaps why 'Dark Side Of The Ring' ran their caption.

It was all a case of poor timing. Things might've been different had Maureen and Paul been available when Sullivan contacted them. They weren't though, and he wasn't about to dive into subjects that might drag up their depression.
