If it didn’t come through the television, Philadelphia loved just about everything in the PPV opening between Will Ospreay and Kevin Knight.

Ospreay remains one of the most bankable stars in AEW, with fans losing their collective minds from the moment his entrance hit until he scored the pinfall victory. (Justin Roberts gave the crowd a bit of a tip-off as they were chanting during the end of Zero Hour for Ospreay and he intoned, “Keep it up and he might be first.”)

Even though the match had a couple hiccups, Ospreay and Knight had the crowd eating out of their hands with their reversal sequences and counters heading into the finish. Although the Billy Goat picked up the win, Knight accomplished his goal of not only introducing himself to a larger AEW audience in singles action, but earning fans’ admiration in one night. There were more than a couple chants for the Jet during their match.

The energy level made this an ideal opener, though it set the bar pretty high for the following matches.
