6. WWE Asked Him About Britt Baker
It's easy to forget that Britt Baker was a bit of a peripheral figure in AEW's female scene before blowing up last year. Cole mentioned that when Paquette wondered aloud if WWE were ever interested in bringing Baker to NXT. They were, but it was never nailed on to happen.
Britt was under contract to AEW, after all.
NXT figureheads (Cole didn't say who) did ask him about Baker's situation though. They wanted to know if she was available/out of contract with a view to seeing if she'd fit into the NXT women's division. Then, Britt got big as D.M.D and they stopped asking so much the more she was featured on Dynamite.
Side note: Cole loves that he works in the same place as Britt now. He couldn't fathom going back to only seeing her for a half-day every week here or there. Being backstage with her, then appearing on shows together is a dream come true for the couple. That's lovely.
