An ornate, leather-bound book isn't the only merch item WWE could've been selling for Black. At one point, he revealed, the company wanted to stick a mask on him and rejig his entire presentation. That would've been seriously cool, but again...plans change.

Aleister called it an "entrance mask" on Twitch, which suggests he'd then remove the thing before actually wrestling matches. Still, a mask is a mask, and it's not like WWE couldn't sell the thing because he didn't throw strikes with it on. Plus, something else he said makes this sound awesome.

The mask would've been for his short-lived "pirate" look.

Last year, Black wore a patch over one eye to sell attacks by Murphy and Seth Rollins. That was around the same time the 'Monday Night Messiah' and his 'Disciple' were ramming people's faces into the corner of the ring steps. WWE considered adding a mask to freshen up Aleister's gimmick once he fell victim.
