This revelation hints that WWE were interested in extending the feud between The Undertaker and AJ Styles beyond WrestleMania 36's 'Boneyard' match. Black almost invaded the cinematic scrap to help 'Taker fight off Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson before dispatching AJ.

Man, how many times did this dude's booking change between 2020-2021? It's insane.

WWE's writers were the ones who lobbied for Aleister's involvement (and maybe some tag matches afterwards?), but Vince McMahon was having none of it. He deleted the run-in from Black at 'Mania, and that left the tattooed striker in an anaemic program opposite Bobby Lashley instead. The thought of what might've been must've been a bummer for Aleister.

He did say that 'Taker was a great sounding board for him behind the scenes throughout his WWE career. The legend also praised Black's selling after watching a match between he and Styles. That could easily have led to a big break had McMahon not stepped in and said no.
