10 Things We Learned From American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes

1. “Why Should I Be The One?”

An awful lot of folks were left steaming mad when Cody lost to Roman Reigns back at WrestleMania 39. "Finish the story" had become the talking point heading into that weekend, but WWE elected to keep the Undisputed Title on Roman and plough forward with The Bloodline implosion story.

Cody rationalised losing to Roman on the doc. Here, you'll see him point out that Reigns had been booked to slay some pretty big names, so he wasn't sure if he was the right one to end that dominance when Roman as champ was clearly still working. It's an interesting bit of self-assessment.

One of the cooler moments from the show is seeing Triple H embrace Rhodes backstage at 'Mania and reinforce that he'd just headlined the biggest show of the entire year. That's something his father had never done, which Hunter was quick to point out.

Most fans remain bummed out that Cody lost, but it didn't kill his babyface fire and it's nice to see behind the scenes moments like this in retrospect.
