10 Things We Learned From Attending WWE WrestleMania 35 Live

1. The Greatest Show On Earth

Kofi Kingston
WWE

There is absolutely nothing like WrestleMania when it hits full pomp.

Your writer (a 31-year-old Scot with a penchant for cynicism) was blown away by the sheer spectacle of the thing on several occasions. When the sky goes black, the snazzy pyro/lighting effects kick in, the crowd get locked in, and the performers craft the perfect story, 'Mania becomes a unique experience.

It's almost overwhelming. 'Mania, at its best, is a sensory overload. There's so much going on during its biggest moments that it can be exhausting to merely take in, and this was particularly true during Kofi Kingston's cathartic triumph over Daniel Bryan, which left the MetLife Stadium crowd absolutely spent afterward.

While the spectacle does come across well on tape, experiencing 'The Showcase Of The Immortals' in-person is a more intense experience. It's enchanting, bewitching, and, at times, mindblowing. Granted, this feeling didn't last all night. It gave way to fatigue soon after the Kingston/Bryan bout, but the moments when that sense of awe kicked in were enough to ensure that last night's show finished as a net positive, despite the monstrous length.
