10 Things We Learned From Bayley On Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions

5. Why Bayley Didn’t Enjoy SummerSlam 2019

Curiously, Bayley told Austin that her feud with Ember Moon heading into SummerSlam 2019 was supposed to be bigger. She didn't, however, go into much detail on what was planned beyond saying it was meant to be better than it turned out.

That probably wouldn't be hard.

In fairness, Bayley was in a rut in the summer of 2019. She personally didn't feel like she was bringing much to the women's division, and that really bothered her. Growing as a performer without losing a firm grip on what fans (and the company itself) expected of her was maddening.

Looking back, the feud and match with Moon was a low point. They got 10 minutes at SummerSlam, and their story paled in comparison to Charlotte Flair vs. Trish Stratus or even Becky Lynch vs. Natalya on the same card.

Bayley could see that at the time, and it sucked.
