Speaking of messy.

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch were supposed to do something very different on the 22 October 2021 SmackDown. Their belt swapping moment was supposed to make "both look good" - Becks would've held both titles aloft, then Flair was gonna challenge her to a fight that Lynch would cower away from.

That's not what went down. Instead, Charlotte ad-libbed and tossed the SmackDown strap onto the canvas. Lynch, who was p*ssed off by this, revealed to Austin that she'd predicted such a display beforehand backstage. She'd already told others that Flair would refuse to give her the "Becky 2 Belts" moment that was scripted.

Weirdly, that salty moment ended up improving their match at Survivor Series, and both women were civil afterwards. Becky is happy to relent that she "lost the head a bit" when Charlotte went into business for herself though. Words were exchanged behind the curtain post-promo.
