Again, The Giant received a fast-track pass to the top of WCW when he debuted in 1995. He was cast as André The Giant's son, which hardly made Show comfortable from the off, and feuded with the promotion's top stars immediately. It was a lofty spot, one granted by his visually impressive physical size.

Show told Austin that his audition tape for Eric Bischoff was a bit cheap. Rather than footage of the big man bumping, trading holds or working basic matches, it showed the soon-to-be World Champ running the ropes...for three minutes. That was it. There was nothing else on the tape.

Bischoff hired him on the strength of that alone. Work rate, yo.

In fairness to the WCW chief, someone who looked like Show did was a must hire in the mid-90s. If his company didn't take the big guy, then Vince McMahon surely would have. Back then, Bisch couldn't let that happen. There was a war brewing, after all.
