10 Things We Learned From Big Show On Stone Cold's Broken Skull Sessions Podcast
6. His Favourite WWE Run Was 2011-2014
Big Show won the old World Heavyweight Title twice and the Intercontinental Title once during a fruitful 2011-2014 spell. That, he told Austin, was the period of his career Show looks back on most fondly. It's not his WCW years, his WWF debut or anything to do with an ECW rebirth. Nope, to him it's all about that three-year stretch.
That's when Show started to think that things were clicking for him inside the ring. Before 2011, he'd often stare into mirrors at himself and wonder aloud why he couldn't "figure this stuff out". It was frustrating, and the penny didn't start to drop on working as a big man until deep into his career.
Very deep.
During that period, Show got to work extensively with Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry, John Cena and others. That motivated him to work harder on improving his game, and he had a blast doing it. Pre-2011, he rarely felt comfortable in his own skin as a wrestler; that might explain why he was always game for doing comedy and those countless turns between heel and babyface.
