10 Things We Learned From Brodie Lee On Talk Is Jericho

2. Those Bludgeon Mallets Were Legit

Those big mallets Harper and Rowan carried around as the Bludgeon Brothers were the real deal. They were made from solid wood, and that made it difficult for both to cart them around on the road; technically, those hammers were dangerous weapons, and WWE ended up transporting them for the team instead of expecting them to carry the things through customs.

They also weren't allowed to call them sledgehammers.

That term, in WWE's world, exclusively belongs to Triple H. The hammers were 'mallets', and that's what announcers were instructed to call them every time. This wasn't necessarily a Triple H call, but Brodie thinks he probably would've had some say in that sort of terminology when hammers were so closely tied to his own persona.

After a SmackDown show, the ring crew showed Brodie what kind of damage these mallets could do. They peeled back the ring canvas and showed cracks in the boards beneath after he'd tried to hit Kofi Kingston with one earlier.
