5. The Royal Rumble 1993 Elimination Was Randy's Idea

By 1993, Savage was no longer a main in-ring focus for the WWF. Shifting into a part-time wrestler role, Randy could mainly be seen sitting alongside Vince McMahon and others on commentary. Still determined to do his bit for the company when he could, the Macho Man recommended a house show series against Yokozuna so he could put the newcomer over.

He also pitched the infamous Royal Rumble '93 elimination which saw Yoko pressing Randy from a pinning position out of the ring to win the match. Savage planned to do everything in his power to make the heel look like a monster before WrestleMania IX, and he succeeded (even if it did seem dumb a veteran would try to pin someone during the Rumble).

Prichard said Randy was always willing to do anything that would help business, which is likely why he feuded with Crush the following year too. As for the Yokozuna rivalry and the idea that he'd win the Rumble by beating a stalwart in the company, that was all Savage's work.
