Last but not least, Konnan also wanted out of WCW. A major draw in Mexico, the star had developed a hip-hop persona in the company and had even been part of the nWo. Bruce Prichard knew who Konnan was, but the wrestler regularly referred to himself by another name in 2000.

Calling the WWF's offices numerous times, Konnan couldn't get through. He was looking for Prichard, who was informed by staff about the calls. Eventually speaking on the phone, Bruce had no idea who this 'K-Dogg' character was, and told him to send in tapes of his work and photographs to WWF headquarters.

Not once did Konnan refer to himself by a name Prichard knew. The creative team member didn't watch WCW TV at the time, so he had no idea that his friend Charles/Konnan had started using a different moniker. Howard Finkel was the one who pointed out to Prichard that it was Konnan when he came off the phone.

Bruce never got the chance to apologise, something he regrets. He did however say that Eddie Guerrero found the whole thing hilarious. Konnan, for his part, was furious.
