10 Things We Learned From Bruce Prichard's WWF & ECW Podcast

2. Triple H & The Undertaker Offered To Work For ECW

By far one of the most surprising revelations from the podcast comes when Bruce Prichard casually slips into conversation that two of the WWF's biggest stars ever offered to do some work for ECW. Prichard can't really remember the exact year, which is a shame, although he does note that it was a common occurrence for WWF staff to offer their services.

Memorably, Jerry 'The King' Lawler had an on screen vendetta against ECW. Lawler then went on to work the Hardcore Heaven 1997 pay-per-view, facing Tommy Dreamer in one of the promotion's most heated matches of all time. Lawler wasn't the only one who would have agreed to appear on ECW shows.

Incredibly, both Triple H and The Undertaker offered to do the same at some point in either 1996 or 1997. Prichard says that Triple H was the most vocal of the duo, which makes sense considering the chunk of that WWF/ECW working relationship fell at a time when he was still performing as Hunter Hearst Helmsley.

Not yet a main event star, Triple H obviously wanted to show WWF management that he was a team player. Still, the thought of he or 'Taker working ECW programming is mind-bending.
