The Dudley Boyz' 3D finisher remains one of the most iconic tag signatures in pro wrestling history, but it came from perhaps the most unlikely of sources. Get this: Bubba was watching an episode of WCW Monday Nitro in 1996 when he spotted Dean Malenko giving Rey Mysterio a flapjack mid-ring.

Rey went so high in the air that Malenko had time to spin round, readjust and pull the masked man down to the mat. Bubba thought that looked cool as f*ck, so he suggested that he and D-Von use something similar for their match at ECW's November To Remember. They did, but they didn't rehearse it.

The spot worked out perfectly anyway.

Later, when the pair teamed up to smash through Paul Heyman's tag ranks, they incorporated the same move Malenko had worked as a double-team finish. So, there you go - a match between two WCW Cruiserweight helped create one of the best tag-team finishers ever.
