Austin revealed that Jericho had texted him to say his 'Session' with The Undertaker was a great interview. When Steve replied, they arranged a phone conversation and "booked the territory" for an hour. That's when Austin started to wonder what it might be like to get Jericho on the show.

Of course, Chris didn't think that'd be possible or realistic. After all, he left WWE to help kickstart AEW, and Vince himself referred to Tony Khan's operation as a "blood and guts" outfit. So, ever the cheeky sod, Austin fired a text off to McMahon and asked what it'd take to make such an appearance happen.

To his credit, Vince said it was fine. Austin, knowing his old boss only too well, double-checked, but McMahon again repeated, "I think it's a great idea". Jericho couldn't believe it, and things moved pretty quickly from there.
