Hearing Chris Jericho, a WWE employee for almost 20 years, talk about himself as a company outsider is f*cking weird. Sorry, but there's no other way to put it. The way he described himself on the podcast (as "competition to WWE") raised eyebrows, and it will for a good while until his AEW run becomes normal.

Speaking of raised brows, there were plenty online when Chris was removed from WWE's regular opening vignette and moved from the active roster to the alumni page on .com. It's not something that'll keep him awake at night.

Jericho understands why, and he totally sees where McMahon's operation is coming from there..

Why should WWE promote somebody who isn't part of their system anymore? It'd be a bit silly to flaunt Chris Jericho's image all over their programming when he's about to embark on a new journey with All Elite that could ambitiously try and cut into WWE's market share.
