The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Bros and Chris Jericho vs. Hangman Page were two diverse choices to close out All Out. One was a daredevil ladder-based stunt show that featured several death-defying bumps and a memorable debut (more on that later). The other was a slower-paced World Title match that reeked of yesteryear.

That was 100% deliberate.

Jericho claims he and Page worked a methodical style for the opening few minutes of their headliner on purpose. Also on the pod, Jericho said that he looked at what match they were following and likened it to WrestleMania X-8. There, he and Triple H went on after a monumental dream match between The Rock and Hulk Hogan.

That's the benefit of experience. Jericho knew it'd be foolish to try and outdo the spot monkeys playing before he and Page, so he suggested keeping things simple and building to a crescendo once the audience in Illinois were ready.
