10 Things We Learned From Chris Van Vliet's Interview With David Benoit
1. He Wants To Wrestle As Chris Benoit Jr.
"Bro, Their HUGE!" says David Benoit when asked about filling his father's shoes in the wrestling world.
David is adamant about following his father's footsteps and pursuing a career in professional wrestling. In his interview with Chris Van Vliet, David states that he spent a good bit of time in Calgary training at Lance Storm's school.
The young Benoit doesn't just look like the Rabid Wolverine: he has the ability to use his father's ring-name legally. It means - should he welcome the association - he can carry on his father's legacy when he inevitably steps into the ring one day.
David describes having gear made to look like his father's gear and even wants to come to the ring using his father's theme song. David undoubtedly still looks up to his father as a hero, claiming something terrible went wrong at the end of his father's life.
David's ultimate goal is to wrestle for All Elite Wrestling or New Japan Pro Wrestling under his father's name, or the ring-name Chris Benoit Jr.
