2. WWE Recently Banned Him For Five Months
David Benoit spoke about how he would always attend WWE events when they would come to his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada until being temporarily banned from all WWE events. David explains he was banned after he wore an AEW t-shirt backstage while at an aforementioned WWE event and a picture of David and AEW owner Tony Khan surfaced online.
David claims he was blacklisted from WWE for five months before finally resolving issues with the company. He stated that he was ignored by WWE higher-ups during this time and eventually reached out to the Director of WWE Talent Relations Mark Carrano, who assured David that he was allowed at any and all future WWE events.
David credits AEW for reigniting his love of professional wrestling after falling out of love with WWE. Although David Benoit and WWE are currently on good terms, don't expect to see the young Benoit in a WWE ring any time soon.
