3. The Kevin Sullivan Conspiracy Theories
Every unexpected celebrity death is all but guaranteed to have it's fair share of conspiracy theories; Chris Benoit's double murder-suicide is not the exception.
One of the most prominent conspiracy theories to come from the tragedy involved Nancy Benoit's previous husband, the controversial Kevin Sullivan, a theory that David Benoit explicitly denies.
When asked about the conspiracy theories surrounding the actions of his father, David calls them "a joke."
"Kevin Sullivan didn’t do anything," Benoit stated. "We looked into that and never had the police look into him, so yeah. I didn’t want to believe it. I thought someone broke into the house, apparently there was a scuffle at the door. That’s what I heard."
The tragedy took a massive toll on David, who explains it took him quite some time to come to terms with his father's actions.
"It took me seven months," Benoit stated. "I was sitting there thinking. I thought about it every day. Why? Couldn’t he have left a note or could he have called me?"
