9. The Date For His UFC Debut
After many months of speculation - some expected UFC 200 would be the event, then word that he would fight on the undercard of 202 began to spread - we officially have a date announced for CM Punk's long-awaited UFC debut.
He will step into the octagon for the first time at UFC 203 on September 10th at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. His opponent will be Mickey Gall, a young prospect looking to make a name for himself by chopping down his well-known adversary.
As an interesting footnote, this will take place at the same arena where Punk walked out on the WWE, so his career has truly come full circle.
Stipe Miocic defends the UFC Heavyweight Title against Alistair Overeem in the main event, so this card is guaranteed to produce some fireworks. The Punk/Gall affair is likely to be a spectacle in itself, although we can't exactly be sure what kind.
