Quality match with Seth Rollins aside, Cody was just so happy that fans seemed to understand his story during WrestleMania weekend. What is that story? “A guy who was thrown to the wolves and in some ways came back the leader of the pack”, in Rhodes' own words.

Cody is aware that some wrestlers take fan interest for granted or believe people in the stands will know every minor detail without being told. His story, unlike most fabricated wrestling tales, is 100% real. It's not something WWE’s writers could just drum up without being inspired, because there have been so many twists and turns involving other places

That's a fair point.

'Mania was a satisfying experience for Rhodes because fans embraced his comeback story and seemed to get it. Older folks know what he went through during his first WWE run, and young kids should find the narrative simple to grasp once they let things sink in.
