In other words, WWE's top brass wanted to find out which young boy would break free of the pack to become a top singles star.

Cody revealed that this poisoned him a little at the time. He grew addicted to the thought of being on top, and that diverted some of his attention away from the task at hand. Looking back, Rhodes thinks Legacy realistically should've lasted at least another year before imploding.
