Stardust naturally took up a ton of time on the show.

Cody didn't really enjoy playing the face-painted character, but "being behind the paint was a good place to be" when Dusty passed on in 2015. That obviously had a huge impact on the wrestler. He was going through a lot personally, and certainly "wasn't ready to be the head of the family".

In some unique, almost twisted way, Rhodes got to hide behind the Stardust guise during a rough time for him mentally. He also told Austin that he appreciated the chance to work with Stephen Amell from Arrow too - that was a big positive from an otherwise-negative period.

This whole portion of the interview was fascinating. Hearing Cody go in-depth on those contrasting emotions between good (having any kind of distraction from his father's death) and bad (the fact that distraction just so happened to be a gimmick he wasn't digging) was a highlight.
