Your eyes are not deceiving you.

Remember when Cody was hearing split cheers/boos in AEW? That was challenging for him to work through, by his own admission, and it might've been totally impossible had it not been for one man's example: John Cena. Oh yes, 'Super Cena' helped Rhodes without even knowing it.

Cody told Austin that he'd been lucky enough to work opposite Cena on WWE live events years before. Standing in-ring, the future All Elite man marvelled at how John handled an overwhelming mix of positivity and negative reaction. He couldn't believe that someone could stay so calm.

That swagger marched on with Rhodes to AEW events. There, some fans cut through the cheers to boo the living sh*t out of him, and he immediately cast his mind back to how Cena took everything in his stride. 'Stone Cold' thought that was awesome, because it showed that Cody knew how to apply lessons he'd learned.
