10 Things We Learned From Cody’s Final AEW Dynamite Q&A

1. Dynamite Opener Could Change Full Gear's Main Event

In a potentially huge spoiler for their first TNT show (or a very smart case of a very smart man saying some very smart words at a very smart time), Cody noted that his show-opening clash with Sami Guevara could have huge ramifications for All Elite Wrestling's near future thanks to the attempt to legitimise wins and losses.

On developing young talent through AEW, he said; "I think of utmost importance is introducing this new cast. Sports-centric wrestling that we're providing is wonderful but there has to be a human connection. There's a reason I went out and started the "Road To..." series - [it] was to introduce these new characters. I think we can bring that and integrate that into Dynamite itself.

Darby [Allin] has made it clear he wants to go one more time. I look forward to competing with Darby again. I will say as far as Sammy Guevara goes, I would like to make it clear that if Sammy beats me I'm not going to Full Gear to face Chris Jericho. Sammy Guevara can take my place."
