9. Rumours Or Real Stories?
The bounty hunter thing is obviously f*cking crazy, but the wild stories don’t stop there.
DDP heard that Bigelow once bit someone’s ear off in a fight in New Jersey (presumably after he'd been kicking ass in Mexico), and Shane Douglas told a story about Bam Bam rushing into a burning house to save people from a fire. Nobody's quite sure if either of these tales were true.
Shane even acknowledged that some of these stories sound far-fetched, but he believes them because Bigelow was a remarkable human being who certainly lived quite the life. Besides, Douglas has no reason to think that Bammer would lie to him about something like saving folks from a fire.
It is worth noting that the wild nature of these stories clash with the quiet family man described in other parts of VICE's doc. Perhaps Bam Bam just...calmed down once he and his wife Dana had kids? That's a total guess - nobody will ever know for sure if some stories are fact.
