Despite her reservations, Peggy did attend some of Candido's early matches on the local independent scene in Jersey and New York. Again, she was there when he first met Tammy, but didn't approve of moves out to Tennessee for work with SMW. Peg's thoughts changed when Chris inked a deal with the WWF.

That was the major leagues, and it told his mother things were running smoothly. Hell, if Vince McMahon was interested in her son then he had to be a star in the making, right?! The slightly ironic thing here is that WWF business was in the toilet when Candido signed in 1995, so his payoffs wouldn't have been sky high.

It didn't make sense to stand in his way any longer, especially now he was working for the market leader. Besides, Peggy could see that Candido was happy with how things were going, and wanted to support his dreams.
