Connie’s side of the story is that she’d gone to bed after finding out Borne might’ve taken some of her mother’s medicine, then was woken up by someone pounding on the door. She just thought Borne was drunk and would be arrested, so she brought him back into the house and went back to bed.

Police reports say she saw him foaming from the mouth at 6.30am, but called her friend and went back to bed before finally phoning 911 at 9am after getting up again. Connie says that’s wrong, and that she phoned 911 hours earlier. She “didn’t go back to bed” and says, “I did everything to help him”.

Neither Tegan nor Michelle believe that's true.

Tegan, in particular, reckons Connie slipped something into one of her father's drinks and then left him to die. That's obviously quite the allegation, but it has never been proven by police investigations. Meanwhile, Connie is horrified that anyone would think she'd do such a thing.
